09.03 Chevy's, Tram Restaurant & Fruitless Hot Cross Buns!

Melbourne Wedding CarsThis is really for the Neighbours fans out there, as one of these three '57 Chevy's was used as Steph's wedding car! One thing we did notice was that three wedding cars was the norm, and the majority of the time they were the same models in the same colour! We won't talk about the inappropriate use of convertibles in Docklands with the a mix of a strong winds and set hair - there was almost tears!

This is what the Tram Restauraunt looks like! The Restaurant Tram at DocklandsThis follows on from our post when we had a meal on the Restaurant Tram, to show you what it looks like from the outside!

Fruitless Hot Cross BunsI never thought that I'd see the day when I would be able to purchase Fruitless Hot Cross Buns! I've always asked my Mum to make some, but she never did!?

The buns are also sitting on my favourite magazine when I was growing up, Street Machine! I was a little surprised to find it, but because Aussie's have a serious love affair with the motorcar, I guess I shouldn't have been. The UK version stopped a long time ago, probably due to petrol prices and magazines such as Max Power - give me a real custom car any day!

12.01 Dandenong Ranges: Ramsay Street

On our return journey home from the Dandenong Ranges, we thought that we'd pop in on a certain street, Ramsay Street to be precise! If you look in the Melways, you won't find it under that name, but Pinoak Court!

We drove up and I tried to turn round, and then realised why a Magna had never featured on Neighbours, as it results in an Austin Powers moment! The turning circle of the Magna is probably the same as an old London Routemaster double decker! I've just read that the Mitsuibishi 380 that replaced our model isn't any better - perhaps one of the reasons why Mitsubishi has ceased production in Australia!

Anyway, back to Ramsay Street... it was a bit of a weird experience to be honest. Joanna had been here before, so she wasn't particularly interested in getting out of the car. So off I went to see the security guard (24 hour, 7 days!), who told me that I could take photos but I wasn't allowed if the owners were in their front gardens.

So I managed to take these photos before the camera batteries went flat, and the embarrassment of it all overcame me!

20.04 Celebrity Watch

To be perfectly honest I'm pretty disappointed that we haven't been able to expand our list of...two!

I saw Sean Hughes from Nevermind The Buzzcocks walking down the street as I was heading to work. He's over here for the Comedy Festival. After seeing Ardal O'Hanlon at the 'festival I spotted Darren from Neighbours. That really is a list to be proud of!! I think we'll have to up our game a little!

You'd expect, when you live in a city this size, you might bump into someone, especially being down the posh end of Docklands! There are supposed to be some footballers who live round here, but we're not into aussie rules yet so we don't know what they look like.

Anyway, we saw another show at the 'festival last week of the 'Best of Edinburgh', with four acts. Unfortunately I didn't catch their names as everytime the mc introduced an act all we heard was muffled noise. It was very funny though. We have another show booked up for next week, which should be fun.

Love to all,
Nathan.
