01.06 First Day of Winter
As the title suggests it's the first day of winter here and we are certainly feeling it! It's gone down to a chilly 15 degrees with a COLD wind off the water which makes it feel baltic! It's still a balmy 25-30 degrees 'up north' why oh why did we choose Melbourne?!?
Everyone is 'rugged up' as they say here and hats and scarves are in the shops. It really does feel cold here and at home we probably would have thought that 15 degs was quite warm oh how we've changed!
We've had to buy a blanket (thank goodness for Ikea) and Nathan has finally allowed the heating on! We're off shopping this weekend for jumpers, hats and slippers!

15 degrees? Thats like summer! Well it has been lately! Can you get some nice pics of a winters sunset on the water front or of the quay? Think we are going to have a nice weekend weather wise, the sun is shining and is quite warm already at 9:05 am! Just to make you feel jealous! Hehehehe! You should be out there showing the Auzzies how us Brits are when its that kind of temperature! Little shoes, 2 thin layers, a little top with a thin cardie or a little jumper and then maybe a thin jacket if needed! No hats or scarves or big coates!! They need educating!!

Phew!!! it has been a fab Saturday- hot- hot hot!!! sitting out having an evening meal and listening to the swifts ducking'n diving! Is our Summer back to stay? hope you found your toastie slippers and Ikea fleece throw to cuddle up to! Hi Guys, great to see and read what you're up to. It all looks so clean and bright out there even though it's a bit chillier now for you. If you get a chance watch the film 'Malcom' which is Matthew's fav film, it's set in Melbourne and I think it's quite famous out there. Not that you want to stay in and watch DVD's but just in case you have a rainy day! We're ok and Daniel sends his love. Sonya and Matthew xxx
